This painting began after a deep dive into inner-child work with an art therapist. The colours were splashed down and the parade of characters were drawn in with my non-dominant hand. I loved how each panel felt like a different season and I later learned that figures moving from right to left on a page is subconsciously linked to going back in time. I added the flowers in towards the end as a silver lining – meaning no matter how much rain, there are always flowers that will sprout out of the muck.
